LITIGATION UPDATE--In the matter of Mary Lou Smith, an individual and Sharon Denson, an Individual, Plaintiffs, vs. Trailer Estates Park and Recreation District, Defendants (2008 CA11315), the judge filed her ruling in favor of Trailer Estates and against the Plaintiffs after a 7-day trial held October 2010.  On November 15, 2010 the Plaintiffs' attorney filed a motion  for rehearing of judgment with the court.  On December 17, 2010, the judge filed her ruling denying the Plaintiffs' motion for rehearing and clarification. Other motions are still pending: 1) a motion to tax costs against the plaintiffs, and 2) a motion for attorneys fees. These motions were filed by the attorneys for the District, on behalf of the District.

On January 17, 2011, a notice of appeal was filed by the Plaintiffs' attorney. On May 25, 2011 the appeal brief was filed by the plaintiff's attorney.  On July 29, 2011 the attorneys for Trailer Estates filed their response.  In September, the attorney for the plaintiffs filed their rebuttal.  Oral arguments have been scheduled for December 7th, 9:30 a.m., 2nd District Court of Appeal, Lakeland, FL.  The appeal hearing is open to the public.  Any additional information regarding the status of this case will be mentioned at Board meetings and will be posted on Channel 95 and in the Tribune.

BUDGET 2011-2012:  At the regular Board meeting on March 21, 2011 the Board adopted by resolution the  2011-2012 Budget as listed in the Budget column to the left. A budget letter showing the new assessment of $1125.00 per year and the financials will be sent to all property owners in April.

POOL SWIMMERS--Please help us as we try to avoid accidents at the pool.  If we remind everyone of the rules--No jumping, running, horseplay-- we will have a safe pool.
