LITIGATION
ASSESSMENT MEETING
District’s attorney Mark
Barnebey stated there will be no litigation assessment in regards
to the kitchen issue tonight. The Board will meet with the attorneys,
however, in regards to the Smith/Denson lawsuit.
Attorney Kurt Lee reviewed
the fact that the trial is now
complete and we are waiting for the judge’s verdict. He also said that Smith/Denson have stated
they will appeal a judgment that perhaps
goes against them.
The Board and the
attorneys moved to the office for the litigation assessment meeting.
RECONVENE
The public portion
of this meeting reopened at 7:55 p.m. Martha
asked if anyone in the audience would like to speak. Since no one came forward, the public hearing
was closed.
TRUSTEE
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Joe: He sent a
letter to Waste Management and Waste
Pro regarding the things we brought
forward
at the last workshop/meeting. Joe reminded
us that this is just a beginning process.
Gail: She reminded residents
not to tape anything to doors in the
park and also reviewed
the fact that opinions cannot be placed in the Tribune. She discussed the CERT article in the October
Tribune. She explained that she appreciates emergency
responders
like CERT but cautioned residents
about giving private information away to anyone, including CERT members. She
stated that a resident had spoken
with her about the possibility of
people picking up groceries for
neighbors who cannot do so. Gail checked with Publix. They said the program has begun in Tampa
and should be in Bradenton soon. Margo
said Health and Welfare could handle
that. Gail feels such a program is
a good idea. Finally, Gail caught the
Board up on the things she has done
in regards
to the photographing of Emotional
Animal applications. Affected residents can pick up a HIPAA complaint form in the office and send it to the Office of Civil
Rights in Atlanta.
Martha: Reminded residents
of the PP we wrote in regards
to behavior during
meetings. Trustees
are to bring
problems in the audience to Martha’s attention if she doesn’t see them. Coffee Break
will begin in December.
Margo: The Thanksgiving Dinner
held annually in the Large Hall has
been cancelled.
Meeting was adjourned
at 8:22 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Gail Opper, Secretary
