The moderator, Larry Sarhatt, opened Candidates Night at
6:30 P.M. Larry announced that the small hall was being used due to a legal
matter. Overflow from the small hall was
accommodated in the large hall and a big screen television was used for viewing
the proceedings in the small hall. Larry
welcomed the residents and gave them instructions on how the meeting would be
conducted. Connie Zach and Beverly
Ferguson passed out index cards to the residents to write questions on and then
collected them. Joe Trinkl was the time
keeper. The candidates attending were:
Eddie Barber, Anthony Battaglia, Martha Brauer, N Jane Brillhart, Margo
Cushman, Harry Fitzpatrick, Laura Freese, Fred Hoch, Benjamin LaFar, Gail
Opper, Toni Smith, John White. Their seat assignments were determined by a
drawing of numbers which coordinated with a seat on the panel. Each candidate was given 2 minutes for their
opening remarks. The questions from the
resident cards were asked by Larry Sarhatt.
The questions that were asked are attached. Some questions were considered inappropriate
by Larry and placed in a separate envelope, also attached. A question was directed to a specific
candidate and then the question was offered to any other candidate who wished
to respond. Each candidate was given a
time limit to answer the question. At the conclusion of the question time Larry
thanked his associates. Each candidate
was then given one minute to give their closing remarks.
Candidate Night Workshop was adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
